The Losi Family have been producing exemplary wines in the Chianti tradition since 1870. Their philosophy is simple and combines quality research with the preservation of traditional values to maximise the quality of their wines.
Chianti was first recorded as a wine region in 1716 by Grand Duke Cosimo III de Medici. Chianti Classico wines are only produced in the original Chianti heartland in Tuscany, now protected by DOCG status. Only Chianti from this area can display the black rooster seal, known as a ‘Gallo Nero’, on the neck of the bottle. This seal indicates that the producer of the wine is a member of the Chianti Classico Consortium.
This wine is bright ruby red with notes of sweet violet flowers and red fruit. It is aged for 12-18 months in French oak casks before being refined in the bottle. Wonderfully easy to drink with refreshing acidity and subtle tannins.
It pairs beautifully with pasta (unsurprisingly) and with meat sauces, red meat and aged cheese.
